Music Videos are a storytelling device commonly used to interpret the story told in a song or often times tell a different story that builds off of the emotions provided on the song. This creates so much space for creativity by taking the ideas present from audio expanded into a visual medium. While sometimes following a script, music video shoots will often incorporate some type of performance or visually engaging production design in order to produce a colorful, eye-catching experience for the viewer in the short duration of one song.
Live Music videos often incorporate multiple camera angles and movements to guide the viewer’s eye towards specific musicians or instruments highlighted at different parts of the song.
Cruel Summer | Fan Made Music Video
This is a Fan Made Music Video for the song ‘Cruel Summer’ by Taylor Swift on the album ‘Lover’.
It was such a shame that Cruel Summer never got a music video. So, when Elliot came to me with an idea for the video, I jumped at the opportunity and instantly started putting together a shot-list. The summer of 2022 came with a lot of ups and downs, filled with one too many let downs. I’m typing this up currently as I am about to board a plane to New York, and I think I can say that both of us can deeply relate to the story told in this video. Thank you viewers for spending the time to watch this video. I hope you enjoyed it and found something in here you can relate to.
