When David and I first met on a short promo video for one of Andrew Baker’s upcoming Album releases, we really hit it off and saw our future goals aligning. I knew I wanted to work with this guy since we had so much in common and were in similar parts of life. He was looking for a Producer/DP, and I’ve been looking for Directors and Writers to work with and continue to work on my craft.
He pitched me the idea for Struggle, sharing the script and original video that it was based off of. To tell you the truth, I was very skeptical at first because of how bizarre the idea was. But I sat down and contemplated and realized this was a challenge and although different that I would have imagined our first project going, saw the opportunity of it. It was a one day shoot and something that allowed me to get some new crew members together for the first time and really see our strenghts and weaknesses as we look towards future projects.
After many days of preproduction, production (Both in VR and on set) and then working in post production with David and Andrew, we were able to put together a compelling film. I have no idea how audiences will react to this, but I am mostly proud of the process and the memories made with new filmmakers in my life. I look forward to continue working with everyone involved and seeing how we all grow together.
